Longest Day of Golf set for June 25

The fourth annual Longest Day of Golf tournament is set for June 25 at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course.

Sponsored by the South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge, Sierra-at-Tahoe and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, the sun-up to sun-down tournament has golfers collecting pledges and then playing as many holes as possible. Last year’s batch of golfers played 116 holes and raised more than $12,000 for the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League.

The golfers will be taking pledges on a per-hole basis or a flat dollar donation amount. This year’s goals are to play 120 holes and raise at least $10,000. Everything for the event is donated and the manpower is volunteered. Every dollar pledged and collected goes to the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League, which uses the money to provide financial assistance and free transportation to cancer patients who are receiving therapy in Carson City and Reno.

To make a pledge, stop by the Moose Lodge, Monday through Sunday between noon and 8 p.m., or call Russ Wilson, event organizer, at (530) 541-1632.
