Longest day of golf taking donations

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge 1632, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and Harveys Resort and Casino, are sponsoring the sixth annual Longest Day of Golf on June 23.

Tahoe Paradise Golf Course will donate its fairways for the day. Golfers will start at sunup and play as many holes as they can before sundown. Last year, the golfers played 120 holes and raised more than to $12,000 for the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League.

Golfers will be taking pledges on a per-hole basis or a flat dollar donation amount. This year’s goals are to play 120 holes and raise more than $12,000.

All proceeds benefit the South Lake Tahoe Cancer League. The league provides financial assistance grants to cancer patients in South Lake Tahoe and free transportation to cancer therapy centers in Carson City and Reno. Lira’s Supermarket, Blue Dog Gourmet Pizza, NorCal Beverage, and DBI Beverage have pledged to donate food and drinks.

To make a pledge, stop into the Moose Lodge between noon and 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday at 961 Eloise Ave.
