Lori Brandstetter

Lori Gail Brandstetter, 52, passed away Oct. 16, 2006, following a courageous fight with cancer.

Lori was a special education teacher for the Lake Tahoe Unified School District for the past 16 years. Her work with students always came first – she never allowed her personal struggle with illness to interfere.

Lori’s perseverance and thoughtfulness of others will continue to be an inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, and their sons, Billy and Michael of Gardnerville, Nev. She is also survived by her mother, Maxine Minovitz, as well as brother and sisters, Marc Minovitz, Cary Minovitz, Shari Emas and Dana Decker, all of Southern California.

A graveside service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden, Nev.

Contributions are being accepted to establish a Special Education scholarship fund in her name to promote the further education of students with learning disabilities. Donations should be sent to Lake Tahoe Unified School District, 1021 Al Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe CA 96150. Please reference “Brandstetter Fund” on your donation.

Arrangements are in care of FitzHenry’s Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.
