Lake Tahoe Dance Collective’s Winter Repertory takes the stage again this weekend in Tahoe City, this time welcoming dancers from the Los Angeles Ballet.

Performances will include the company premiere of Chris McDaniel’s “Ragtime Jubilee,” a sassy celebration of jazz-influenced ballet from the ragtime era, according to a press release for the performance.

Originally created for the Los Angeles Ballet’s Dances by Dancers program, McDaniel brought the work to the LTDC ensemble and will join the cast, along with fellow Los Angeles dancer Alex Castillo.

“To have such acclaimed dancers come to Tahoe City and be a part of our season is a wonderful opportunity,” said Christin Hanna, founder of LTDC, in the release.

The second premiere of the performance will be Constantines Baecher’s “Happy Dance of the Wild Skeletons,” created at New Chamber Ballet in 2013.

The work explores a playful friendship using varying improvisational techniques to create a romp through space using a vocabulary of movement, according to the release.

Two brand-new works, “Occasione” and “Paper Towns” will round out the weekend’s program.
