Art, theater and great food will combine June 12 for an unforgettable evening at the Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation Gala. Hors d’oeuvres for this year’s event will be from Cork and More, and the college culinary arts students will produce the spectacular desserts.

The gala raises money to support the Foundation for the Future scholarship. Open to all graduates of South Tahoe and Whittell high schools with a 3.0 GPA or better, the scholarship provides the equivalent of two years of tuition at LTCC

Students and student talent are the focus of the evening. Activities start at 6:30 p.m. in the LTCC Commons as guests mingle, enjoy excellent food and wine and view the 2003-2004 annual juried student art exhibit. The spring quarter production of the original musical “Lysistrata’s War” is the highlight of the evening. LTCC instructors, David Hamilton and Mark D. Williams, fashioned a rock opera around the classic Greek comedy “Lysistrata.” It is sure to be an unforgettable evening.

Tickets for the gala are $100 a person and are tax deductible. A sponsorship is $500 and includes two tickets to the gala plus widespread use of the donor’s name and/or their business name in all publicity for the event. Sponsorships or tickets may be purchased through the foundation office at (530) 541-4600, Ext. 344.
