Lake Tahoe Community College men tie Lassen at home
The Lake Tahoe Community College men’s soccer team fell behind early Friday but stormed back and settled for a 3-3 tie with Lassen in South Lake Tahoe.
After the first 20 minutes, Lassen converted the only two chances it had and led 2-0.
The Coyotes created their own chances during that time but couldn’t finish.
They finally broke through and scored three straight goals, two by Sean Keith and one by Josh Corlett.
Lassen tied it late on a penalty kick.
“It’s tough because I felt like at times we had the run of play,” said Coyotes head coach Nicholas Arbelaez. “We made a few errors to go down quick but I found that we are a resilient group. I was proud of the team and feel we were slighted a bit on their penalty to tie the game. We found a little more of identity and feel we needed a game like this to prep for the final run of conference and postseason play.”
The Coyotes (9-3-4, 4-1-2 Golden Valley Conference) had just one game last week and a tie was not good enough to keep them in the national rankings. The Coyotes trail Lassen (4-0-2 GVC) in league and are ahead of Feather River (4-2-1 GVC) and Butte (3-0-3 GVC).
Lake Tahoe traveled to Butte College Tuesday, Oct. 24, and will host Siskiyous (2-4-0 GVC) at 7 p.m. Friday in its final home regular season game.
