LTCC offers dental classes

Lake Tahoe Community College is offering continuing education courses for working dental assistant in the Tahoe area. Three of the five mini courses meet California state requirements for R.D.A. license renewal.

Four of the classes focus on R.D.A. duties, but also will help unlicensed dental assistants prepare for the California State board examination necessary to become registered dental assistants. They are:

–Placement of Periodontal Surgical Dressings, two classes from July 17.

–Placement of Temporary Class II Rotations, two classes from July 24.

–California Registered Dental Assisting “Written Review” Course, five classes from June 26.

–Fabrication of Temporary Acrylic Crown, two classes from July 26.

The fourth class in this series is designed to help working dental assistants with experience taking dental X-rays but still need their California X-ray certificate. The class provides individuals the opportunity to challenge the state written X-ray test and quickly complete the remaining practical requirements. The fifth class offered, California “Radiation Safety Certificate” Challenge Course starts July 26.
