LTCC taking play to Fringe Festival

Lake Tahoe Community College’s theater department will perform at the Fringe Festival in Victoria, British Columbia, on Aug. 19 through Sept. 1.

Open auditions for actors, singers and dancers for the original rock opera “Lysistrata’s War” will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 27 in the Duke Theater.

There are roles for 17 singers, plus chorus and dancers. There will also be crew positions to run the show.

Program dates are Aug. 19 through Sept. 1. The estimated cost of the trip if $1,048 which includes hotel and breakfast daily. Students will be responsible for all other trip costs including travel to and from Victoria, tuition and meals.

No audition songs are necessary. People wishing to audition for singing roles will learn pieces from the show at the audition. Musical selections from the show will also be available outside the theater department office in the LTCC fine arts building.
