LTUSD employee hired as new middle school principal
August 12, 2008
South Tahoe Middle School has a new principal: Beth Delacour.
The new hire was announced at a special Lake Tahoe Unified School District Board meeting Tuesday. The former principal, Jackie Nelson, informed the district of her retirement this year. She held the position for four years.
“I’m excited to go to work with a great staff and be with kids again,” Delacour said.
Delacour was the human-resources director for the district, and district employees expressed their support for her move.
“We’ll miss you here, but you’re not far away,” LTUSD Superintendent Jim Tarwater said of Delacour.
Delacour has 28 years of experience in education, including teaching regular and special education, and was an adjunct faculty member at California State University, Sacramento.

The board also voted to combine the human-resources position with staff development at the meeting. Applications now are being accepted for the position, and the deadline is Sept. 3.
Tarwater said he hopes interviews will be conducted Sept. 5 so the board can make a hiring decision at its meeting in the second week of September.
Board members Michael Doyle and Angela Swanson were not present at Tuesday’s meeting.
