LTUSD special meeting called for budget

The Lake Tahoe Unified School District Board only has one item on its agenda March 3, and that’s the budget.

A budget meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. March 3 at district offices, 1021 Al Tahoe Blvd.

After a budget presentation by LTUSD Chief Financial Officer Debra Yates last week, the board called a special meeting devoted to discussing the 2009-10 budget.

Board President Wendy David recommended that all the board members digest the information from the presentation, and come back with more questions for the budget meeting.

The district needs to make up for the $205 per pupil loss, which equates to a $820,000 hit for the district, Yates said.
