LTVA director may be leaving

Tahoe Daily Tribune Staff Reports

Despite an announcement to the contrary at the South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting Tuesday, Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority Executive Director Bill Chernock has not resigned, he confirmed Wednesday.

Chernock and LTVA board Chairman Tom Davis plan to meet today to discuss Chernock’s employment status, about which the two men have been engaged in conversations.

Chernock has not submitted an official resignation.

Davis said Wednesday he hopes to talk Chernock out of leaving the agency.

The LTVA board meets May 27.
