LTVA to look toward finishing touches for its annual strategic plan

by Sally J. Taylor

The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority’s strategic plan will receive additional scrutiny by the board of directors during its monthly meeting on Thursday.

The meeting begins at 3 p.m. at Harveys Resort & Casino Convention Center.

“There hasn’t been any major changes to it (in previous meetings),” LTVA Director Terry LeBan said.

Following final approval of any changes, the strategic plan, which provides general goals and direction in marketing, promotions and research, will be applied to the specific marketing plan and advertising campaigns for 1999-2000.

“We’ll have a situational analysis nest in the marking committee meeting that will bridge between the marketing plan and the strategic plan,” LeBan said.

Also on Thursday’s agenda for discussion and possible action are a request for $12,000 in funding for the 2000 Lake Tahoe Film Festival; appointment of a vice chairman for the board of directors; appointment of a budget subcommittee; and possible legal action against a business organization for alleged misuse of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority’s name.

The LTVA office telephone number is (530) 544-5050.
