LTVA will critique reservations system

Sally J. Taylor

The central reservations operations at the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association will be scrutinized today by the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority Board of Directors, which owns the 1-800-AT-TAHOE number.

The board will meet at 10 a.m. at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Convention Center.

Results from the mystery shopper program, which used Lake Tahoe Community College business students to test agents answering the reservation line, will be discussed.

Due to the need to upgrade the answering machines to accommodate requests by the LTVA, the NLTRA will ask the board on Thursday for a longer commitment to its contract to manage the central reservations system.

In other business, the board will consider spending $6,500 to purchase the back cover of Reno Air’s new summer fly-in golf guide and $2,526 to produce a lighted sign-box promoting the South Shore to display in the Southwest Airlines concourse at Reno/Tahoe International Airport.

Reports at the meeting will include development of a Labor Day Event; arrangements for the Isuzu Celebrity Golf Championship; and development of a joint powers agreement to add the Tahoe-Douglas Visitors Authority to the LTVA partnership.
