Luncheon to feature Reno-Tahoe winter games CEO

Staff Reports

MINDEN, Nev. – The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce general membership luncheon on Wednesday will focus on winter. For a change, it’s not about the weather, but the Winter Olympics.

Jon Killoran, CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Winter Games Coalition, will be the speaker.

He handles the day-to-day operations for this nonprofit organization, with the mission to bring a future Olympic Winter Games back to Reno/Tahoe.

Killoran has served in this position since February 2009, working with public and private sector leaders from Nevada and California to position the region as a premiere sports destination and bid favorite to host the Games.

Before joining the Olympic effort, he spent 21-years in Reno’s television news industry.

The effort to bring the Winter Games to the area has been going on for years, and Killoran will provide an update on where the efforts currently stand.
