Magic goes with dinner on Friday

Entertainment after the July 6 potluck dinner meeting of the South Lake Tahoe Senior Citizens, Inc., will feature Dick Van Buskirk, actor, singer and magician. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the senior center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Van Buskirk has performed magic since he was 9 years old. He also has acted locally for 14 years as Mr. Fezziwig in “Ebenezer Scrooge,” played Nicely Nicely recently in “Guys and Dolls” and was Tevia in a production of “Fiddler on the Roof.” He has worked in night clubs and been involved in TV using comedy, singing and magic to entertain. He also has been the owner of Bijou Furniture Outlet for 27 years.

The potluck meeting is open to members and guests. Participants are reminded to bring their own dishes and utensils. Members who attend are eligible to win a $25 door prize and there will be a raffle with money prizes.
