Magician appears at library

Tahoe Tribune

Jonathan Lopez the Magician will perform magic tricks at 2 p.m. July 12 at the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library, 1000 Rufus Allen Blvd. The program is free and for children of all ages.

Lopez has been a magician for many years. His interest in magic and illusions began as a youth, when a family friend first turned him into various close-up magic and card tricks. During his teenage years he could be found performing magic shows at various community centers in places in California such as Winters, Vacaville and Davis. He began performing at area restaurants not long after graduating from high school. For the past 10 years, Lopez has focused solely on magic and party and event planning. His resumZ includes illusion shows, close-up magic, birthday parties for young and old, special occasion parties and events.

In addition to the Summer Activities, the library will once again sponsor a Summer Reading Club. Sign-ups for the club began June 25 and will continue throughout the summer. The Reading Club is designed as an incentive for youths to read during summer vacation by receiving prizes for books read. For more information call (530) 573-3185.
