Mammovan to be unveiled today

Provided to the Tribune

Join Harrah’s, Harveys and the Nevada Health Center at the unveiling of the Mammovan at 11 a.m. today. The van will be open for tours at 10 a.m. and noon.

The Mammovan is a mobile mammography unit that travels to rural areas of the state to provide screenings to geographically isolated and/or uninsured women.

In 2007, Harrah’s Entertainment and The Harrah’s Foundation lent their support to Nevada Health Center’s Mammovan program by providing a $500,000 grant for the purchase and operation of a new, state-of-the-art unit that will offer mammogram screenings to rural Nevada residents.
