Man arrested after allegedly shooting moving vehicle in Meyers
A 34-year-old man was arrested in Incline Village Thursday after allegedly shooting a moving vehicle in Meyers.
About 9:20 p.m. Thursday the driver of a grey Toyota Prius traveling eastbound near the intersection of State Route 89 and U.S. Highway 50 in Meyers reported the vehicle had been shot by a passing motorist in a gold and tan sedan, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol. A bullet hit the driver’s side door of the Prius and ended up in the driver’s seat, according to the report.
Neither the driver or the passenger of the Prius were injured.
A little less than two hours later, a Washoe County sheriff’s deputy arrested Ignacio Arizaga, from Galt, Calif., after Arizaga approached the deputy while he was fueling his patrol car at the Incline Village substation. Arizaga told the deputy he “thought he killed somebody in South Lake Tahoe,” according to the report.
Arizaga was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and shooting at an occupied vehicle and booked into Washoe County Jail.
It is unknown if he has an attorney.
