Man arrested for allegedly kicking police officer

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A 29-year-old Grass Valley man was arrested on suspicion of battery on a police officer Saturday night after he allegedly kicked a South Lake Tahoe Police officer at Heavenly Village.

Police responded to Heavenly Village Cinemas about 10:50 p.m. following a report of an intoxicated man by security personnel, said Lt. David Stevenson.

When officers attempted to interview the man, he became belligerent and kicked an officer in the knee, Stevenson said.

The officer did not require medical treatment, Stevenson said.

The man was booked into El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe.
