SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – South Lake Tahoe police arrested a 25-year-old man Friday on suspicion of statutory rape, domestic violence and willful cruelty to a child last week after he allegedly injured his 17-year-old girlfriend during an argument.

Hector Torres, 25, was arrested after police responded to a home in the Ski Run Tract about 11 p.m. March 17 following a report of domestic violence from the girl’s mother, said Lt. David Stevenson.

The teenager was taken to Barton Memorial Hospital with scrapes to her hands and complaints of abdominal pain following the fight, Stevenson said.

Torres remained in custody at El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe Tuesday night.
