SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – About 1 p.m. April 30 El Dorado County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 26-year-old South Lake Tahoe man on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly hit a 40-year-old Sacramento man with a PVC pipe over a sledding dispute.

The South Lake Tahoe man was reportedly a caretaker at Tahoe Paradise Golf Course and got into an argument with the Sacramento man and his family who were sledding on the course, said Lt. Les Lovell.

The South Lake Tahoe man allegedly swung a PVC pipe at the other man’s head, but hit his foreman when the man blocked the pipe.

The 26-year-old man was booked into El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe.

Lovell said it was likely the sledders were trespassing, but a decision on whether to pursue trespassing charges will be left up to the District Attorney’s Office.
