Man cited for skiing out of bounds

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office cited a 23-year-old South Lake Tahoe man Saturday afternoon after he allegedly skied out of bounds from Heavenly Mountain Resort.

The man allegedly crossed two sets of ropes at the resort’s Milky Way Bowl in an attempt to catch up with friends, according to a deputy’s report.

The man was cited under a Douglas County Code section which makes skiers and snowboarders responsible for costs of search and rescue efforts made on their behalf.
