Man persists in search for Yorkie

Dallas Gillaspey’s Yorkshire terrier disappeared from his backyard along Eloise Avenue on Jan. 31, and Gillaspey immediately began a search for Big Al.

“Big Al was stolen almost six months ago from an 8-foot by 40-foot yard with a 6-foot fence. The thief entered through the front gate and took Big Al, cutting his collar off and leaving it neatly placed on the ground, so we know it wasn’t an animal,” Gillaspey said.

Gillaspey hasn’t given up hope and he has broadened his search for his missing dog. He is offering a generous reward and is handing out fliers around town. He has placed pictures of Big Al on his panel truck asking “Have you seen my dog?” with his telephone number and is driving the truck around town daily. He is also distributing handmade lapel pins with Big Al’s photo for people to wear.

Big Al, who answers to his name, is black and tan. He is 8 years old, weighs five to six pounds and is eight to nine inches high. His hips are bad and he limps to the left. He has two upper and four bottom teeth.

“There is no way this little Yorkie could have been taken without others noticing this person. If you know someone who lately brought home a little Yorkie, and you suspect the little dog might be Big Al, call me at (530) 541-3483,” Gillaspey said.
