Man robbed of cash by blond man with goatee

After cashing $240 from a slot machine at MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa, a 47-year-old Cameron Park man was robbed when he was walking toward another casino, authorities said.

The thief said he had a gun when demanding the man’s money during a confrontation near Harveys Resort Casino on Oct. 1, a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy reported.

The man was unharmed as the robber took the cash and ran. No gun was seen but the thief had his hands in a sweatshirt pocket.

The thief was described as being a white male adult, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with blond hair and a goatee.

In other news:

* A 19-year-old working the arcade at Horizon Casino Resort reported his Compaq laptop computer stolen after he returned from a visit at the nearby cigar shop, authorities reported.

The arcade employee told a Douglas County sheriff’s deputy he used the laptop to issue electronic cards used for the games. Security tape revealed a Hispanic man and woman possibly in their 20s enter the arcade when the theft occurred Sept. 27. The pair are considered suspects.

With the woman standing guard at the arcade’s entrance, the man climbed on the glass case, reached around a partition and grabbed the computer, the deputy reported.

Both left through an exit toward the pool area. Authorities suspected the arcade employee might have had a part in the theft because of the crime’s convenience.
