Man shot twice, stabbed inside South Lake Tahoe home
A 47-year-old man was taken to Washoe Medical Center this morning and listed in good condition after he was shot twice and stabbed once after three men entered into his home along the 1400 block of Keller Road in South Lake Tahoe, authorities said.
South Lake Tahoe police Lt. Marty Hale would not disclose where William Atkins was injured. Authorities are investigating the incident as a residential robbery and attempted murder. No arrests have been made.
“I don’t know if they were life-threatening but obviously they were very serious wounds,” Hale said.
Atkins was taken to Washoe Medical Center in Reno via a CALSTAR helicopter.
Hale said police received a call at 2:58 a.m. from a “distraught female” saying her roommate was shot.
“As far as we can tell there was no forced entry,” Hale said.
