Mancuso to celebrate Olympic performances at Northstar

RENO – Julia Mancuso will be showing off her new Olympic silver medals this weekend near Lake Tahoe.

The Tahoe native who grew up at Squaw Valley has scheduled an appearance at 4 p.m. Sunday at the nearby Northstar-at-Tahoe ski resort outside of Truckee.

Mancuso opened the Vancouver Games by finishing second to teammate Lindsey Vonn in the downhill, then was runner-up to gold medalist Maria Riesch in the super-combined.

Her appearance at Northstar will come between performances by local bands. A raffle also is planned to benefit Mancuso’s “Snow We Livin Foundation,” a nonprofit whose mission is “Fun, focus, fitness and well- being for life.”
