October 6, 2008
A Carson City man was arrested Thursday by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Street Enforcement Team after allegedly delivering 1 3/4 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $18,000.
Bail was set at $50,000 cash for Sean Adam Thorpe, 27, who is charged with five counts of sales of a controlled substance. He was accused of making five sales between Sept. 4 and Oct. 1.
Simultaneous with Thorpe’s arrest in Douglas County, Tri-Net agents searched his home in the 1500 block of Camille Drive in Carson City. Agents seized an additional 1 1/2 pounds of pot, 40 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, two Ecstasy pills, $3,500 in suspected drug proceeds and a rifle, authorities said.
East Fork Justice Jim EnEarl appointed Tod Young to represent Thorpe after he said he couldn’t afford to hire an lawyer. Thorpe said he was paid under the table as a bouncer for women who perform at strip parties.
He is in custody in Douglas County Jail and is to appear in court today. He faces charges in Carson City of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sale for the drugs found at his home.
