Marilyn Jean Rozum
Marilyn Jean Rozum, an 18-year resident of South Lake Tahoe, passed away peacefully at home May 24, 2008.
A previous resident of Orange County, Calif., Marilyn was born April 22, 1932, in Long Beach, Calif., She and her husband owned and operated a chain of children’s stores for 20 years in Southern California and Dallas, Texas, known as “Hansel-N-Gretel” and/or “Youngsterville” children stores prior to the family move to Lake Tahoe.
Marilyn Jean is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Charles; and four daughters, Laurie Ann and son-in-law Paul Bleecker, Terissa Lyn and son-in-law Michael Brick, Sandra Jean and son-in-law Tom Kersten, Nancy Sue and son-in-law Darren Haines. Included in her loving family are 10 grandchildren and their spouses: Jeffery, Matthew and Melissa Bleecker, Shannon, Kelly and Jamie Brick, Kimberlee and Jillian Kersten, and Zachary and Tucker Haines, along with seven great-grandchildren and her sisters Joyce Inferrera and Christine Goodwin. She was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who maintained a loving relationship with her childhood and neighborhood friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 30, at St. Theresa Church, with inurnment following at Happy Homestead Cemetery.
