Marine making rapid ascent
September 29, 2005
Justin H. Williams has graduated boot camp as a United States Marine.
Williams joined the Marine Corps on a delayed entry program while he was enrolled at Douglas High School. After graduating high school, he was shipped to recruit training in San Diego. It was Father’s Day.
He is the son of South Lake Tahoe Police Detective Brad Williams.
Prideful family members and friends look on Sept. 16 during Williams military graduation.
During training, Williams received a promotion to private first class and excelled in all areas of physical training, marksmanship and drill. After 10 days of much earned leave, Williams has returned to Camp Pendleton, Calif., for advanced infantry training.
He is undergoing additional security clearances in anticipation of deployment to Washington, D.C. as a member of the prestigious Silent Drill Team. If so assigned, his duties will include ceremonial marches and dignitary protection, including the protection of the president of the United States.
