The afternoon will feature music and dance provided by local musicians as well as by several different community and church choirs and multicultural groups. Representatives from the civic and spiritual communities will also be present and sharing their thoughts on Martin Luther King. All are welcome to attend. The event is free, and refreshments will be available.
Also participating will be representatives of the Season for Peace and Nonviolence committee, who will be facilitating the sixth annual local celebration of the nonviolent principles of King and Mahatma Gandhi. The runs from Jan. 30 through April 4 and includes an age-appropriate packet for practicing peace and nonviolence received by every Lake Tahoe Unified School District student.
