Mayer Solen

At his request, no services are scheduled for Mayer Solen, 90, who died July 27, 2006, at Carson City, Nev.

Mayer was born May 14, 1916, in San Francisco, Calif., to Harry Esser Solen and Jennie Solen. A 24-year resident of Carson City, he had previously lived at South Lake Tahoe. He had been employed as a state inspector for the state of California. Mayer was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He loved using his computer and traveling, especially to Europe. He was a very gentle man who never spoke a harsh word and had many friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Jones of Simi Valley, Calif.; stepdaughters, Merlo Pitcher of Carson City, Marilee Oakes of Carson City, Leslie of Kingston, Wash., Gerrie Austin of Poulsbo, Wash., and Ellen Conry of Denver, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by wife, Marjorie Solen in 1990; wife, Joanna Solen in 2006; son, Henry Solen in 1993; and brother, Morris Solen in 1993.
