McIntyre third in CFL in sacks

HAMILTON, Ont. – Garrett McIntyre has become Hamilton’s most consistent pass rusher six games into the Canadian Football League season.

McIntyre recorded his team-leading fourth quarterback sack in Hamilton’s 29-22 come-from-behind victory over Winnipeg on Saturday night.

The former South Tahoe High defensive stalwart is tied for third in the CFL in the category.

Hamilton (2-4) trailed the Blue Bombers 22-20 entering the fourth period, but the TigerCats recovered a fumble on Winnipeg’s 27-yard line midway through the final quarter. Hamilton capitalized with Kevin Glenn throwing his third touchdown pass of the evening – a 15-yard dart to Dave Stala. The TigerCats later added a field goal for the game’s final points.

The two teams meet again on Friday night – their fourth meeting – in Winnipeg.

McIntyre’s season totals also include 10 tackles and a fumble recovery.
