Measure F oversight committee to meet

Tribune staff report

An oversight committee promised as part of the voter-approved Measure F bond meets Thursday night at 6 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Community College District board room, 1 College Way, South Lake Tahoe.

Voters approved the bond in the Nov. 4 general election by 57.8 percent, allowing the college district to issue up to $55 million in bonds to upgrade college facilities and equipment.

The initial meeting will introduce the new board members, elect a chair and vice chair and provide an overview of planned projects aligned with the measure’s funding.

Planned projects, according to the oversight committee agenda package, include renovation of existing space to provide a university center for upper division coursework, core building upgrades, a regional public safety training center, modernized facilities, expanded campus technology, an early learning center, an environmental studies and sustainability center and other capital improvements.
