Learn more about her via the Q-and-A below:

Why are you a journalist?

Learning and writing are some of my biggest passions, and journalism is the perfect combination of the two. Everyone has a different story and I love hearing them all.

What excites you about the Tahoe Daily Tribune?

What a great location. The opportunities are endless, given the range of exciting activities that go on here. Whether I’m spending the day on the lake, on the mountain or in the community, I’m enjoying it.

Where did you come from?

Bay Area — born and raised. I attended college in Southern California on the edge of LA County, but the most I have in common with the region is being an avid Disneyland and late night television fan.

What’s your favorite Tahoe event?

This is a tough question — I have a wide variety of interests. I went to Celebrity Golf this year for the first time and had a blast, but I also enjoy anything on the lake and mountain.

What do you do for fun?

Nothing beats curling up with a good book and a warm drink — except waking up early to get on the lake, spending the morning wake boarding and water-skiing while the water’s good. When mid-September rolls around you’ll find me following the San Jose Sharks’ every move.

How should readers contact you?

Shoot me an email at awhitney@tahoedailytribune.com or give me a call at 530-542-8033. I’m the contact for all things features and entertainment!
