Meetings to provide information about Wood Roof Replacement Grant

Three meetings will be held to provide the public and roofing contractors with information about a Wood Roof Replacement Grant.

The grant is provided by Lake Valley Fire Protection District, California Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency management Agency. Homes in the Lake Valley and Meeks Bay Fire Protection Districts with combustible, wood shake roofs are eligible for the program. The program will provide participants with a 70 percent reimbursement, with a maximum reimbursement of $6,000 for the cost of replacing their roof.

A public information meeting for Lake Valley Fire Protection District residents will be held July 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Lake Valley Station 7, 2211 Keetak St. in Meyers.

A meeting for Meeks Bay Fire Protection District residents will be held July 11 from 4-6 p.m. at Meeks Bay main station, 8041 Highway 89 in Tahoma.

A roofing contractors meeting will be held Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon at Lake Valley Station 7.
