Memorial Day a time to remember

Soldiers who have died in defense of the United States will be honored this Memorial Day at a ceremony in South Lake Tahoe at Happy Homestead Cemetery.

Beginning at 11 a.m. Monday at the cemetery on Johnson Boulevard, veterans, families and civic groups will participate in the Memorial Day event.

Participating will be the Naval ROTC from South Tahoe High School, American Legion Post 795 officers, the Boy Scouts of America, the American Legion’s Rifle Squad and the Legion’s Color Guard. Also planning to attend is city Councilwoman Margo Osti.
