Merchants Day deadline is Sunday

Sally J. Taylor

Ticket sales for the Sierra-at-Tahoe’s Merchants Day, scheduled for Thursday, will benefit local charities. Tickets are $15 until Sunday and $20 after that day, for either a full day lift ticket or a learn to ski/snowboard package plus a chance to win a 2000-2001 Sierra-at-Tahoe season pass. This year’s event will be bigger and better with business staffs pitted against each other for the honor of being the fastest snowsporter in the area. Four-member teams and individuals will compete on giant slalom and obstacle courses for a perpetual trophy and prizes.

Proceeds from ticket sales go to the Barton Memorial Hospital Foundation, Tahoe Youth and Family Services, Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation, Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation.

Tickets are available at the South Lake Tahoe, Tahoe-Douglas, El Dorado, Shingle Springs/Cameron Park, Carson Valley and Folsom chambers of commerce offices plus the Barton Memorial Hospital gift shop and the Lake Tahoe Community College bookstore.
