Meyers man sentenced 25 years to life for trying to kill his wife
Konolus Smith, a Meyers man whose wife accused him of trying to kill her by forcing her to swallow a combination of pills, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison on Monday.
In December, Smith was found guilty of two felonies, spousal battery and making criminal threats.
A mistrial was declared on felony charges of attempted murder and false imprisonment because of a juror’s misconduct.
Due to previous convictions for murder and attempted murder, Smith faced sentencing under California’s three strikes law.
