Kingsbury Middle School chorus and drama classes will present “Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.” at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kingsbury Middle School. Tickets are $2 for general admission.
The Emmy Award-winning Saturday morning educational cartoon series is the basis for one of the most fun and energetic musicals to hit the stage. Tom, a schoolteacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV. Suddenly, the Schoolhouse Rock bunch appear in his classroom and proceed to show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs that cover a variety of subjects: math, science, history and grammar.
This talented group of students will win your heart in their performances, appropriate for children and adults of all ages.
“Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.” is directed and produced by Eileen Twomey and Heather Kueher. All the dancing is innovative and originally choreographed by the students. Stage, set costumes and props have all been created and built by the students. A tremendous effort was put into the production process of the musical. All of the students in both music and drama contributed at length.
