Miles joins Fazekas on Bighorns’ cut list
RENO – The Reno Bighorns have waived PG Aaron Miles due to injury after the league’s assists leader injured his left knee during the second quarter of Reno’s 124-109 loss to the Iowa Energy on Wednesday, Jan. 5.
Miles, who had started all 17 games for the Bighorns this season at the time of his injury, was averaging 8.8 assists per game. Miles also was tops in the NBA Development League with 2.5 steals per game.
The all-time Big XII assists leader is the second Bighorns’ starter to be waived due to injury in the last two weeks. On Dec. 30, center Nick Fazekas, a former University of Nevada player, was waived due to injury after injuring his ankle.
Pursuant to D-League rules, the Bighorns will retain the rights of both Miles and Fazekas. Both of their return dates are unknown.
