An annual test of skier endurance returns to Heavenly Mountain Resort this Saturday.

The Gunbarrel 25 takes place starting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, and includes dozens of participants trying to make 25 laps on Heavenly’s the Face and Gunbarrel runs, an approximately 1,700-foot descent, in the least amount of time. The steep runs are a mogul-lover’s dream.

“Returning April 2, Gunbarrel 25 tests participants’ physical limits with 25 laps on Heavenly’s Gunbarrel run in one day,” according to press release. “An annual favorite for locals and visitors alike, this signature spring event may make your legs feel like Jello for a few days.”

Best times for the event in the past have been in the area of three hours. Ironman divisions also award the man and woman who complete the most laps of the steep face over six hours. More than 40 laps have been recorded in the past.

Registration on the day of the event will be in held in the California Main Lodge from 7:30-9:30 a.m. The cost to participate in the Gunbarrel 25 is $50 for pass holders and $115 for those without a pass.
