Army Spec. Richard A. Klimek, son of John Klimek of Zephyr Cove, has graduated from a U.S. Army Primary Leadership Development Course. He is a team leader assigned to the 59th Chemical Company at Fort Drum, Watertown, N.Y.

During the five-week course he learned basic leadership and counseling skills, to perform duties and execute responsibilities of a junior noncommissioned officer and to train and lead soldiers to work and fight under supervision of the battle-competent, first-level noncommissioned officer. The course included written and physical fitness tests and hands-on field training and land navigation exercises.
