Miners rally to defeat STHS JVs

Manogue outscored South Tahoe 15-2 over the final 8 minutes, 30 seconds to pull out a 41-34 victory Friday in South Lake Tahoe.

Miltaiye Vasquez and Jacob Stowell each scored six points to lead nine Vikings’ scorers.

Cefalu’s free throws beat Manogue

John Cefalu made two free throws with 1.8 seconds remaining to lift the South Tahoe High boys’ freshman basketball team to a 48-46 win at Manogue.

Brandon Cramer led the Vikings with 11 points, and Cefalu added 10. Kyante Wilson scored seven, Cody Higgins six and Hayden Bronken six.

The Vikings are 12-8 for the season.
