A Minneapolis, Minnesota, performer and video game designer is set to bring his unique live show to Steamers Bar and Grill Friday.

Heatbox uses a Boss LoopStation RC-50 and a DigiTech Vocal 300 to loop sounds and create R&B, hip-hop, soul and funk songs in real time.

“Heatbox effortlessly blends vocal percussion and vocal turntablism with the simulation of horns, strings, musical instruments, and various sonic anomalies,” according to his online biography. “But that’s not all. He has mastered a wide range of music technologies while grounding them in a firm understanding of quality songwriting, singing and the unifying power of creative expression via live performance. His dedication to the craft of beatboxing and live looping has earned the respect of the hip-hop community and jam music scene throughout the United States and abroad.”

Heatbox has supported artists including Buckethead, Medeski Martin & Wood, Bassnectar, Umphrey’s McGee and Chali 2na.

“Showing no signs of slowing down, Heatbox plans on spreading his music and positive message to the rest of the world. Ultimately, his passion is to entertain people, and that’s exactly what he does. He truly is a one-man entertainment system,” according to the bio.

Steamers Bar and Grill is located at 2236 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe.
