10:20 a.m., 3300 block of Bruce Drive, South Lake Tahoe – domestic violence. Police arrested Kimberly Cooney, a 37-year-old from South Lake Tahoe, because she allegedly punched a man in the eye. The 37-year-old man refused medical treatment for the injury, but reportedly told police that Cooney was drunk when she hit him.

9:35 p.m., Rufus Allen Boulevard and U.S. Highway 50, South Lake Tahoe – city code violation. A taxi cab was stopped by police for speeding. The officer searched the cab after he discovered the driver, Greg Grieman, was on probation. The officer reportedly found a scanner hidden under the passenger’s seat. It’s a violation for taxis to have radio scanners. “What they do is jump calls,” said South Lake Tahoe Police Officer Chuck Owens. “On slow nights they listen to other cab dispatchers and then try and arrive there first.”

Update – Police have decided not to pursue a case against Earl Duty in an alleged domestic dispute that occurred at his home February 22, due to lack of sufficient evidence.
