Monday’s weather: Cloudy, cold and possible snow showers today

A return to mainly fine weather can be expected today although it will remain cold.

There will be some cloudiness from time to time and possibly even a light snow shower later this afternoon and evening but no significant snowfall is expected any time soon.

Under partly cloudy skies look for highs to rise into the 30s today with 20s at the higher elevations for those of you hitting the slopes. Winds will be easterly in the 10 to 15 mph range although ridge tops may experience stronger gusts.

These stronger winds may mix down to lake level and through the west facing canyons on the east shore such as below Kingsbury Grade and Spooner Summit near Glenbrook keeping temperatures there a little milder although with the wind it won’t feel warmer.

Clearing skies tonight will allow for cold temperatures in the single digits and teens although windy areas will stay in the upper teens to lower 20s. The next significant system to affect the area won’t arrive for a while possibly later next weekend or beyond but we will keep you informed.
