More burglaries, vandalism at South Shore businesses

Jeff Munson

Two South Lake Tahoe businesses were burglarized early this morning, and another business had a rock thrown through its window, authorities said.

The Yellow Submarine on Tallac Avenue and Baskin-Robbins 31 Flavors Ice Cream at 3330 Lake Tahoe Blvd., each were broken into, with windows smashed and money taken, said Lt. Marty Hale with the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.

The burglary at the sandwich shop was reported at 4:25 a.m., while employees of the ice cream parlor reported the burglary at 7:55 a.m., Hale said.

A rock was thrown through the window at Village Mountain Surf and Sports at 3552 Lake Tahoe Blvd., Hale said. Nothing was missing from the store but the owner, Dick Yost, said there was $1,000 in damage done to the window.
