More clues about Friday’s mystery band at Vex

Dan Thomas

Harrah’s Lake Tahoe is getting a little more brave in tipping fans off about the next mystery band to play Vex nightclub, on March 14.

“We kind of dropped a couple of hints for the savvy enough to read between the lines,” Ashley Patton, public relations and promotions specialist for Harrah’s and Harveys, said of the advertisement for the next midnight show.

The band, an up-and-coming indie rock act, is also letting its fans know that it’s coming to Stateline.

“It’s definitely out there, all over the Internet,” Patton said.

Reno rock station KRZQ 100.9, which has broadcast a remote from Vex during the first two mystery shows also is in the know. The radio station invites those who can’t wait until Harrah’s unveils the band at midnight to join its KRZQ Army and learn who the mystery guest is at 10 a.m. Friday.

The first two mystery guests were Austin, Texas, electronic duo Ghostland Observatory and San Diego rockers Louis XIV. While Patton didn’t have any official numbers, “There was a lot of good feedback from the last band.”

Vex hasn’t confirmed a mystery show for April or beyond, but Patton indicated that more mystery might be possible in the future.

“I’m hoping that we are going to be able to do this again,” she said.

Until then, there’s at least one more mystery for music lovers to solve.

“It’s going to be a fantastic show,” Patton said.
