Mother Hips and guests to perform this summer

Sierra Valley Lodge announced the Weekend Summer Camp with The Mother Hips to take place June 12 and 13. Three shows will be featured in two days with The ‘Hips, along with many special guests.

Led by Tim Bluhm and Greg Loiacono, San Francisco’s The Mother Hips have more than 20 years of history as a band. The band’s sound evolved over the years, flowing between rock, psych, folk, and indie. The band eventually laid claim to its very own genre dubbed “California Soul.”

The first performance is an evening show with The Donkeys on June 12. The next day features two shows, the first at 2 p.m. with The Moore Brothers, followed by another evening performance with Extra Classic. Other special guests will be announced. Each weekend ticket allows access to all three shows. VIP packages are also available, in limited quantities. These packages include a room at the Sierra Valley Lodge, VIP access at shows, and dinner. Weekend and VIP packages are both on sale now.

The Sierra Valley Lodge is located in Calpine, Calif. which is 30 miles north of Truckee on Highway 89. The full service restaurant and the bar will open at the same time as the lodging and the main music venue on the first weekend in May. The restaurant is headed up by veteran Chef Ronald Allen who will provide an updated mountain cuisine focusing on local growers.
