Motorcycle rider killed on U.S. 50

A 58-year-old man was killed Friday when his motorcycle sideswiped a Jeep going eastbound on U. S. Highway 50 four miles west of Carson City, Nev.

Nevada Highway Patrol is withholding the man’s identity and place of residence until they are able to notify family members.

Edward Andriso, a 45-year-old from South Lake Tahoe, was driving east on U. S. Highway 50 next to a 2000 custom Titan motorcycle when the bike reportedly entered the lane Andriso was in and hit his 1997 Jeep around 3:40 p.m.

NHP Officer Troy Lindley said the 58-year-old was not wearing a regulation helmet when he ricocheted off the jeep and hit a concrete sidewall. He was pronounced dead at the scene of massive head injuries.

One lane of the highway had to be shut down for four hours because of the wreck.
